Servanes is provence through and through, with the white rocky terrain of the Alpilles, cypress and plane trees, and sometimes a gust of mistral which can play havoc, although golfers are relatively sheltered on this course. On a country site more or less protected from property development, Sprecher and Watine have designed a nicely landscaped course which is technically fair but none too rish in imagination. The fairways could certainly have been better contoured, for in Provence people prefer pathways to boulevards. Otherwise, there is little else to say, except that high-handicappers and beginners alike will find the calm and the course they are looking for to satisfy their nascent enthusiasm for the game. All this in a magnificent setting close to the splendid village of Baux de Provence. (Peugeot Golf Guide - 1996)
